Powerful, captivating, hectic is what best describes the signature sound of Montreal singer-songwriter-producer-arranger Em Pompa. With her album Now What, Em flows through soulful yet rough and strong atmospheres, giving flair and ingenuity to her music.
After a tour spanning over 200 dates across Canada and Europe, the former leader of the octet Bellflower, backing vocalist with Daniel Lavoie, and keyboardist-percussionist and backing vocalist with Marie-Pierre Arthur, released her new album Now What in Spring 2024. The album was co-produced with her longtime collaborators Félix Petit (Les Louanges, Hubert Lenoir, Felp, etc.) and William Côté (Les Louanges, Misc, Felp, etc.).
Through her collaborations and her keen sense for sound exploration, Em once again pushes the boundaries between genres, crafting a style that is uniquely her own.
Her new compositions immerse us in a universe that is both vibrant and staggering—almost chaotic—where electro-soul textures seamlessly blend with industrial elements.
